We’re big fans of smoothies and shakes at our house! My husband Jack has a protein shake for breakfast almost every day (I talked more about that here) and I often have one as a quick meal or snack on the go! Our Raspberry Melon Smoothie is a perfect option for when you want a treat that is sweet and healthy at the same time!
I’ll share a great tip here with you today as well! If you are like us, sometimes we buy fresh fruit – such as a cantaloupe or other kind of melon – and then get about halfway through eating it. Next thing you know – the uneaten half has been sitting in the refrigerator for weeks and it has to be thrown away. (I hate when that happens!)
So now – when we’ve had our fill of fresh melon – we cut the remaining half into chunks and then freeze it for recipes just like this raspberry melon smoothie! It’s not only a great way to avoid having fruit go to waste, but the frozen fruit is also perfect for smoothies because you don’t need to add any ice to get a thick, cold texture!
This raspberry melon smoothie is a combination of frozen cantaloupe chunks, frozen raspberries (you can use fresh raspberries instead if you’d like), vanilla yogurt, and guava nectar (or pineapple juice if you can’t find the guava nectar) – all flavors that really complement and balance each other in a very delicious way! Just throw everything into the blender, mix it up until smooth – and you’re done!
This raspberry melon smoothie is a wonderful, light and refreshing beverage that you can enjoy for breakfast (you can even add some protein powder if you’d like), as a snack, or even dessert!
