Make a delicious Turkey Salad Sandwich with leftover Thanksgiving turkey!

We’ve got another recipe for you today that uses up Thanksgiving turkey leftovers in a very delicious way – and it’s our recipe for a simple and super flavorful Turkey Salad Sandwich!
This turkey salad sandwich is reminiscent of our Copycat Willow Tree Chicken Salad (one of the most popular recipes on A Family Feast) – but we’ve changed up the spices and the proportion of ingredients just a bit in order to really complement the flavor of the turkey!
Our not so secret ingredients for making this the perfect turkey salad sandwich is a little bit of Bell’s poultry seasoning, plus a touch of brown sugar in the mix, along with minced celery, onion, celery salt and mayonnaise. We also like using a mix of the dark and white turkey meat – but whatever leftovers you have are fine!
Serve your turkey salad between slices of crusty bread. We sometimes also spread a little bit of leftover cranberry sauce along with the turkey salad on our sandwich for a sweet and spicy contrast of flavors. (But that is completely optional.) Enjoy!

I was a bit skeptical at first as I had never considered adding brown sugar ( or several of the spices recommended) to a turkey salad in the past but just went with it and boy was I glad! Made this with the last 2 cups of leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Absolutely delicious. I also made a wonderful turkey pot pie but this salad blew everyone away. Can’t wait for leftover turkey salad sandwiches!
So glad you enjoyed the salad Mary Beth!
Thanks 😊 for your delicious recipe! I’m looking for a out of a store or restaurant brought to buy a turkey or chicken salad that maybe gets close taste wise to your turkey salad? Do you know of any recommendations places or brands???! Thank for your help Tony
Hi Tony – I don’t have any recommendations for a store-bought turkey salad, but this recipe is modeled after our Copycat Willow Tree Chicken Salad – and you can buy Willow Tree Chicken Salad pre-made at many east coast supermarkets or at their store in Massachusetts. Not sure where you are located…hope that helps!
This is a very simple recipe, not calling for elaborate ingredients. I also think the brown sugar made it especially tasty for my husband. Thank you so much. In CHRIST, the presnells. Merry Christmas!!
We’re glad you enjoyed the salad Betty – Merry Christmas to you too!
Martha,
I made the turkey salad today and it was delicious. This was my first time to cook turkey with Bell’s Seasons. I purchased it earlier in the year when you suggested it in a previous post. I had never heard of it before…but will be my go to seasoning for poultry in the future.
Thank you, Linda
So glad you liked it Linda! Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello Martha! Just want to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving ! I am not making anything this year due to a surgery last week but not to worry.. doing fine! First year in memory I have not baked or cooked. My mother was never without Bell’s seasoning during this time of year. I will refrain from saying .. What , no garlic!. LOL. Have a blessed holiday and Merry Christmas to all!
Happy Holidays to you too Doris! Hope you have a speedy recovery – and just RELAX! 🙂 And I hope at least one of the dishes you get to eat has at least a little bit of garlic!
May I please use your photo to add to a link back to your site listing this as a great way to use leftover thanksgiving turkey?
Yes Patti – That is fine!
