Easy to make and delicious. Served with pork tenderloin and brown rice.
Great suggestion Jan! Thank you!
Loved this sauce! I didn’t have enough cherries so I threw in some fresh blueberries. I served it on an un-iced super-dense chocolate cake.
So glad you enjoyed the recipe Lesle!
My kids love dipping fried wontons in a cherry sauce. But haven’t been able to find it anywhere anymore. Was wondering if this is similar to the jarred cherry sauce you buy in stores ?
Hi Renee – It’s similar!
Martha made a cheesecake last night but it really needed something else. Found your cherry sauce and it is fabulous! Tonight’s will be cherry Cheesecake Divine! thanks
Thanks Gwen! Sounds like an amazing dessert you have ahead of you! 🙂
Used brn sugar as I was out of white…made it amazing! Could eat a bowl full!
Thanks Tara – good to know that brown sugar can be swapped in…thank you!
Absolutely love your recipes. Definitely i’ll try these New England apple cider cake and quick skillet chicken with grapes! Thx for sharing!
Thanks Jill!
Would this work with brown sugar? I LOVE fresh cherries and can’t wait to try this either way. I need to remember to buy a cherry pitter so I can actually make things with my cherries. I usually eat them out of the package until I make myself sick. They’re too good.
Hi Samantha – I’m not sure if brown sugar will work – it might change the flavor too much! If you decide to try it with brown sugar instead – please let us know how it comes out!)
Yes I definitely will be using this. Don’t know if you know the benefits of black cherries but my husband has gout. When he has a flare up, he eats black cherries. Helps relieve pain and swelling almost immediately. Thanks for the recipe for the sauce.
Thanks Ginger! I did not know about the benefits – good to know! I hope you and your husband both enjoy the recipe!
Shilling for Walmart now? Boy that is too much…a good food site has turned into another commercial…so sad..
Hi Sherry – Thanks for taking the time to write to us and we greatly appreciate that you consider us among the good food sites! We do occasional sponsored posts to help offset the costs of running a website that receives more than 700,000 page views a month (our web hosting costs are fairly high to support that level of traffic) as well as to offset the food costs of developing 5-6 recipe posts per week. We love sharing our recipes (for free) with our readers but we do need to offset our costs in some way. We only work with brands that we actually use, or in this case, Walmart is one of the stores where we actually shop. I always state up front when our recipe post is sponsored by a brand – at that point, I would encourage you to scroll right down to the recipe if it’s one you are interested in seeing. Thanks for your candid feedback and I hope you’ll continue to enjoy our recipes! Martha
