We eat chicken quite often at our house so we’re always experimenting with different ways to prepare this versatile and delicious meat. Sometimes we eat chicken that has been marinated and grilled, or coated with a breading and baked. Other times we might do a quick sautéed chicken. Or – if time allows – we even have this slow-cooker chicken recipe in our collection! But one of our favorite recipes is baked chicken made with this Spice Rub for Chicken!
Our spice rub for chicken is a delicious option for when you’re preparing skin-on roasted chicken. You can use this spice rub on a whole roasted chicken, as well as on individual chicken pieces. We’ve also used this spice rub on our Bourbon Spice Barbecue Chicken Wings!
It’s a blend of seasonings that you likely already have in your kitchen spice cabinet – including brown sugar, paprika, salt and pepper, coriander, garlic and onion powders plus other seasonings. The combination of flavors is a little bit zesty, a little bit salty and a little bit sweet! (Just perfect with chicken!)
Simply mix up a batch of this spice rub for chicken and store it in an air tight container. We predict you’ll be reaching for this delicious spice rub for chicken again and again!

Have you used this rub on skinless chicken? We do steaks and pork chops/loins in our countertop infra-red convection oven with rubs, but haven’t seen any for chicken before. Since we have about 8 months so winter here, outdoor grilling season is just way too short, and this has been a fantastic alternative.
Hi Chris – we’ve used this rub with skin-on chicken but let us know how you like it on skinless! Should work!
This sounds wonderful! I’m always looking for new ways to make chicken! It can be so boring sometimes!
Thanks Kathy!!
I love that I have all the ingredients on hand!
Thanks Chung-Ah!
I have a couple rubs on my blog, as well, but not one like this. I can’t wait to try it!
I love experimenting with and making rubs at home, it’s so much cheaper than the ones premade in the stores! And I can control sodium content! 😉
I hope you will link up this wonderful recipe and others at my Foodie Friday Blog Hop at A Room for Two with a View. I know my readers would love it!
Have a fantastic Foodie Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Melissa – And I’ll definitely check out the rubs on your site (totally agree…so much cheaper AND better than anything you can buy premade)! Have a great weekend too! Martha
