This creamy, zesty sauce is made with ingredients you probably have right now in your pantry and refrigerator. The prep is simply measuring out each ingredient, then whisking them all together in a bowl.

Then, you’ll be ready to spread your homemade special sauce on burgers (like our Copycat Big Mac Sliders), sandwiches, and chicken patties. It’s also great enjoyed as a dip with vegetables or French fries.

Why you'll love Special Burger Sauce

  • It adds a delicious zip of flavor to any burger or sandwich.
  • It’s made with common ingredients you probably have on hand in your kitchen and mixes up in just minutes.
  • You won’t need to make a special trip to a fast-food restaurant when the craving strikes.

Key Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Mayonnaise – We like the flavor of Hellman’s mayonnaise, or you can make your own.
  • Ketchup
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Relish – You’ll want to use the common, green hamburger relish for this copycat recipe. But if you have other favorite relish varieties on hand, you can certainly get a little creative with this sauce.
  • Lemon Juice – Always squeeze fresh lemon juice yourself for the best flavor. (The bottled lemon juice can add a bitter taste.)
  • Vinegar – We used champagne vinegar in our sauce because it has a nice bright flavor. But white wine vinegar can be used instead if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Kosher Salt
  • Paprika
  • Granulated Sugar

Special Tools Needed

  • Small Mixing Bowl
