Whenever we have friends or family over for breakfast or brunch, my husband Jack makes this fabulous Sundried Tomato and Basil Cream Cheese Spread. In fact, I sometimes think he invites people over just so he can make this recipe – he loves it so much!
It’s a very simple recipe. Start with some softened cream cheese, and then simply mix in some chopped fresh basil and chopped sundried tomatoes – and you’re done!
This sundried tomato and basil cream cheese spread is just three ingredients – but the combination of flavors is fantastic! There’s a savory-sweet flavor profile in this spread – the intense rich flavor from the sundried tomatoes combined with the cream cheese tastes almost sweet, and then the fresh basil flavor is the perfect savory note to balance out the flavors of this wonderful spread.

Smeared generously onto some fresh bagels – this sundried tomato and basil cream cheese spread is definitely one of Jack’s all-time favorite breakfast treats, and we’re sure it will become one of your favorites too!

how long does it keep in the refrigerator
Hi Lorraine – Since fresh basil is mixed in, it should be safe to eat for about a week when kept in the refrigerator.
Easy to make and easy to please a fussy crowd
Thanks Ginger!
I bet this would make a great dip. I’ll try thinning it out for that and report back how it was
Sure Lois – you could swap in some mayonnaise and sour cream for some or all of the cream cheese.
So simple to make yet so tasty I my self have been making my own flavored cream cheese for years. This you can customize it anyway you like. Endless opportunities to explore.
