Ten years ago, my husband Jack and I moved into our home. It was a newly-built house, and back then, we were able to work with our builder to select the kitchen cabinets, flooring, and countertops to match our style and our budget!
But a limited budget back then drove many of our design choices – we went with builder-grade flooring, countertops, lighting and appliances (with the plan to change those out someday), and we invested in upgraded maple cabinets that are (thankfully) still in great condition! Fast forward to now – and as food bloggers who are constantly working in the kitchen – Jack and I are ready for some kitchen updates!
I’d like to add a more modern pop of color with a new, glass tile back splash in colors that match the color palette in the rest of our house. We also want to put in granite counter tops (I want something lighter in color, while Jack prefers a darker counter top – so some compromising will need to happen!), and we both want a deeper farmer’s sink (we wash a LOT of dishes with all of the cooking we do!).
And we’d love to add some pendant lights over the center island in our kitchen, plus some fun wall art. (See our Pinterest inspiration board below for links to the images you see here, or scroll down for direct links.)
If you’re also planning some kitchen updates – wouldn’t it be totally cool to work with LG Studio and renowned decorator and designer Nate Berkus on a kitchen renovation for YOUR OWN HOME!?!

LG Studio and Nate will choose the winner based on the following criteria: compelling design opportunity, quality of LG Studio appliance-based answer and visibility of kitchen space.
