We’re sharing this Fiesta Style Cranberry Sauce recipe as part of a sponsored post for Ocean Spray®.
As a food blogger, I have to say – I get invited to some very cool events! And if you follow me over on Instagram or Twitter then you might have seen some photos of my recent trip to New York City where I enjoyed a fabulous lunch right in the middle of a cranberry bog display at Rockefeller Center®!
At the event, I joined our Massachusetts-based neighbors Ocean Spray®, special guest Australian Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone, and a group of other bloggers where we all suited-up in waders and explored The Evolving Thanksgiving Table. At our lunch I learned that, according to a recent survey conducted by Ocean Spray, half of all Americans say their Thanksgiving dinner menu has changed over the years – and it now includes both traditional and globally-inspired fare.
During our lunch, Chef Stone spoke about his love of cooking with seasonal ingredients, and he also shared some delicious dishes – all made with Fall’s number one ingredient: the cranberry! We enjoyed a menu consisting of a variety of dishes that incorporated traditional tastes, modern tweaks, and influences from around the globe.
Every ‘Thanksgiving Traditionalist’ and ‘Turkey Day Daredevil’ in attendance at our lunch found something to love on the menu!
And although our own family’s Thanksgiving menu leans more toward the traditional – my favorite recipe of the day was this Fiesta Style Cranberry Sauce that we’re sharing here today. It’s a very non-traditional sauce made with Ocean Spray fresh cranberries, oranges, serrano chile, lime zest and cilantro! I never would have thought to put these flavors together – but this cranberry sauce is absolutely fantastic, and we’ll be making this recipe for our own Thanksgiving dinner coming up in a few weeks!
