Ingredients

Units Scale
  • One large onion, cut into thick slices
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Few grinds of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 pounds 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 0.7-ounce packet Good Seasons Italian Dressing and Recipe Mix
  • 1/8 cup A.1. Steak Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Blue Cheese Aioli
  • 6 to 8 burger or bulkie rolls

Instructions

  1. Place onion, oil, butter, salt, pepper and sugar in a medium skillet and turn to medium to medium low. Heat the onion slices, stirring occasionally, for 45 minutes or until nice and caramelized.
  2. In a medium bowl, gently mix Good Seasons Italian Dressing packet and A.1. Steak Sauce into ground beef and form into patties.
  3. In a large cast iron skillet, add one tablespoon of the olive oil and heat pan over medium high heat.
  4. Place the patties in the skillet and sear untouched for two to three minutes, or until a nice crust has formed. Flip, reduce the heat to medium and cook until your desired doneness.
  5. Smear the top of a cut bulkie or burger roll with blue cheese aioli. Place the cooked burger on the bottom of the roll, then top the burger with the caramelized onions. Serve with pickle and potato salad.

Notes

These recipe instructions are written for the burgers to be cooked on the stove top in a cast iron skillet, but these burgers can also be grilled just as well!
